1. What BlueClaw Is
BlueClaw (blueclaw.law) is an AI-powered tool that helps legal professionals format and verify citations against standard legal citation conventions. BlueClaw is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Use of this tool does not create an attorney-client relationship.
2. How It Works
BlueClaw uses AI models (currently MiniMax M2.5) to check and format legal citations. The tool references standard citation rules by number (e.g., "Rule 10.3") and applies a public citation system to publicly available facts such as case names, reporters, volume numbers, and page numbers. BlueClaw does not reproduce copyrighted manual text.
3. No Affiliation
BlueClaw is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Harvard Law Review Association, Columbia Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, Yale Law Journal, or any publisher of legal citation manuals.
4. AI Output — No Guarantee of Accuracy
AI-generated output may contain errors. BlueClaw does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or correctness of any citation it produces. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before using it in any legal document. AI-generated content should not be relied upon as legal advice or as a substitute for professional judgment.
5. Your Documents
You may upload legal documents (memos, briefs, etc.) for citation checking. We process these documents to provide the service but do not store them permanently. Uploaded content may be sent to third-party AI model providers for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Accounts and Pricing
BlueClaw offers a free tier with up to 10 queries. Additional usage requires a paid subscription. We reserve the right to change pricing, features, or usage limits at any time with reasonable notice. A Citation Verifier feature is currently in development and will be subject to these same terms when launched.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use BlueClaw for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying models or data; (c) misrepresent AI-generated output as human-authored legal analysis; or (d) use automated systems to exceed usage limits.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of any documents you upload. BlueClaw retains ownership of the tool, its design, and its underlying technology. The formatted citations produced by BlueClaw are factual in nature (case names, reporters, etc.) and are provided for your use.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlueClaw and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
BlueClaw is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the email associated with your account or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of BlueClaw after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
